How Biometric Attendance Sync Works With IN and OUT Devices
Learn how CozyHR supports biometric device setup, employee mapping, IN/OUT punch direction, CSV fallback, signed push APIs and attendance recalculation.
The role of biometric sync in HRMS
Biometric attendance sync connects physical punch devices with employee attendance records. CozyHR supports device registration, employee-device mapping, IN and OUT punch direction, CSV fallback imports, signed push APIs and monthly attendance recalculation.
Using one device for IN and one device for OUT
When a company has two physical devices, one can be configured as the IN device and the other as the OUT device. The tenant admin or HR team should create both devices in the Time workspace, assign a direction to each device, and map employee biometric user IDs consistently across both devices.
What HR should validate
- Device IP, port, protocol, branch, direction and sync schedule
- Employee biometric IDs and duplicate user ID conflicts
- Raw punch logs, rejected push evidence and health status
- Attendance policy rules for late marks, half days, shift windows and monthly locks
API and fallback options
CozyHR can accept signed device push payloads and also supports CSV punch imports when middleware or vendor SDKs are not available. Failed push attempts are recorded with safe evidence so administrators can investigate missing headers, inactive devices, invalid signatures, unsupported protocols and duplicate rows.
Operational outcome
The goal is not only to collect punches. A reliable setup turns raw device activity into reviewed attendance days, leave/payroll context, manager visibility and audit-ready reports.
